so I'm going to call it a quart posaune. This one is from the 1960s, it was silver-plated but as you can see some of the plating has worn off from use. It makes a great big sound but retains the clear and clean character that really helps set players enhance their performance. Made in the mid 1960s at the Cleveland King factory, this is the real deal folks. Totally slick and classy. Since he was mostly know for producing jazz horns, they were never as popular as his famous model 6, making 8's quite rare. Standard C tuning slide. This is a big sounding bass trombone with a classic old school orchestral tone. Construction and craftsmanship is very high. This is a used Edwards T-350 with a 384 bell flare (thin gauge yellow brass, soldered rim, unlacquered) with Thayer valve, gold brass tuning slide and .525" wide (Bach style) slide. These New York bass trombones are incredibly rare, only showing up for sale once in a while. This design is based on the Alexander bass trumpet but with much improved intonation. It started it's life as a valved model but I had my technician Brad Close remove the valve and put new parts on it to make it a straight horn. The bell flare appears to be an original Minick one piece bell (I think it is an early Larry flare because of the way the seam is constructed), the valves are Bach valves but have been modified with Minick inline open wrap. $1200 Sold. This would be for "symphonic work" and his idea was to keep it small up front and big in the back. The bell has the deco engraving, tuning slide has the nickel guard and the slide has both bronze outer tubes and thick slide braces. Having made 12 arkbones out in the world, Thomas and I thought it would be fun to design something new! There is a little tiny bit of wear on the inner tubes and a few cosmetic scratches but overall a very clean and good playing example. DJ's handmade pens sell for lots of money, here's a very special piece that you won't find anywhere else. The slide tubes seem to be original, at least the top tube which is nickel plated brass. Here's a really nifty custom Benge, modified in NYC to be convertible. It features a .500" lightweight yellow brass slide, 7.75" bell flare. Lightly used Bach model 36G with convertible F attachment (open wrap) and straight neckpipe. These bells were made on special electroplated mandrels, which let them be thinner and more vibrant than sheet sterling silver material (ala King Silversonic), thus giving these sterling bells a resonant and responsive sound. He was a custom horn maker out of Chicago and is credited with this style of valve wrap and horn design. Sold without case. It features a .500" bore lightweight nickel silver slide, 7.5" one piece yellow brass bell. This is a beautiful bass bone in excellent condition. $3300 with case. If you tend to play on the lower side of the pitch, you may find this horn would need to be slightly cut (which is an easy modification). Many of the great newer horns are modeled after the original Besson instruments. It's a good blowing trumpet and comes with a case and a fantastic pedigree. With original case, $1400 SOLD, Here is a very nice used Holton H378 double horn in F/Bb, designed for the young professional or advanced beginner. Rudy Meinl cimbassos are highly regarded around the world as the best, and I must admit I am impressed by the craftsmanship and quality of this giant. Valves seal well and the sound is classic "Alex". The action is working as it should and plays very even and open on both sides of the horn. SOLD, Vintage King 6B "Duo Gravis" Silversonic bass trombone, dependent valves with sterling silver bell. This is a really fabulous playing instrument and has a pedigree to one of the major US orchestras. It shows hardly any signs of use and has many many years of use left in it. Features a Swiss made Rotax valve, with gold brass open wrap tubing. The Perantucci PT-3 Tuba is a compact CC tuba made in Germany. This one is in very nice condition and has a nice sound. Overall in very nice condition, showing some contact wear (it is raw brass). The bell is a Bach 50 "Corporation" early Elkhart bell in yellow brass, in high demand these days. It has an adjustable gap receiver and includes three bell flares: sterling silver A4, nickel silver A2, gold brass A2. This is a vintage Bach model 16 trombone from the 1950s. The sound is really good quality, a velvet tone that isn't too edgy but has a clearly defined front to the note. $4500, Here's a rare one! It has a hand hammered and honed bell (the hammer marks are cleary visible in the dark patina on the inside of the bell (dark from the fabrication process and gorgeous). Serial dates it to early Texas production. It was made at the Los Angeles shop and still has the prominent "williams" trademarks: curved handgrip, special water key, and curved bracing. It is a large bore french horn with a large bell flare. The YEP-321 has always been a favorite amongst working professionals.
